Skydiving Gift Certificates Can Be for Tandem Jumps, Accelerated Freefall, or Static Line Progression
If you're thinking about giving skydiving gift certificates to friends and family, there are three primary methods of sky diving instruction. The oldest method of teaching skydiving is called static line progression. The other two methods, accelerated freefall and tandem jumps, involve one or two instructors jumping with you.
The choice between methods depends upon your budget and how fast the skydiving student wants to be pulling a ripcord. Skydiving predates the airplane by a few centuries. Leonardo Da Vinci had plans for wooden frame to parachute. The first person to actually jump on a silk parachute was Andr-Jacques Garnerin. Garnerin jumped in Paris in 1797.
Static line jumps are the original way to learn how to skydive. As a matter of fact, static lines are still used by a number of professional jumpers, such as military paratroopers and firefighting smoke jumpers. They even use static lines for cargo drops. A static line student jumps between three and 4000 feet and has just a couple of seconds a freefall before the chute automatically deploys. It is the most cost effective way to learn to skydive. If there is an equipment failure and a student panics, the parachute can be opened by an altitude of sensitive deployment system.
Tandem jumps are actually made with the student and instructor strapped together in a specially made harness. The tandem master is an expert instructor, with over three years of experience and 500 jumps. Jumping with a qualified instructor alleviates the fear of many students, and also ensures you have an expert on hand in case there is an emergency. There have been tandem jumps for the last 30 years, and it has been proven as effective instructional method for a new skydiver. Since there is one instructor per student in a tandem jump, this method is a little bit more expensive than at a static line a jump, typically costing between $150 and $250.
Accelerated freefall classes allow a new student almost a full minute of freefall from the very first jump. This is accomplished by jumping with two qualified instructors who hold onto your harness. During that minute you get a chance to practice flying skills, altitude awareness, and pulling that ripcord. If something goes wrong they can pull special handles on the sides of the harness and deploy your canopy for you. Since two instructors are going with students on those first few jumps, this is the most expensive of the three programs.
A new skydiver is considered a student until properly licensed by the United States Parachute Association. The licenses are divided into four classes, labeled A through D, with A being the first license. To be granted an A license from the USPA, you must complete 25 jumps under the supervision of the USPA instructor. At least five of those jumps must be in a group of three are more jumpers. Once you were officially licensed you can rent equipment in jump in any drop zone without supervision.
Learning to skydive today is now safer, faster, and more fun than in any other time in history. Skydiving gift certificates are a gateway to a fun and rewarding hobby.

why do I have a bruised forearm after skydiving?
I went on my first static line skydive yesterday, and when I landed, everyone i went with had a bruised or scratched forearm. When I woke up this morning, I noticed my forearm was bruised as well, has anyone else experienced this and what might have caused this?
I also had my lines get twisted, so maybe that could have been a factor

Next month I am doing a static line skydive with my bf and father, we have to take a 5 hour class on what to do, but what is it, what is the procedure on how to land, control your parachute, jump and everything, is it hard to do? I am anxious and scared at the same time.
