Orlando, Florida Offers Surprises To Tourists
Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World are some of the popular tourist attractions in Orlando, Florida, but there are many hidden surprises in store for the tourist.
There are a host of festivals that are held in the city. They are held year round, and visitors come in droves to enjoy them. The annual Star Wars Celebration is held in August. The cast and crew of the series, live entertainment, and good food delight young and old alike. The annual Night of Joy is held in September. This festival features Christian recording artists, who perform some of their greatest hits. In September, Fashion Week is held at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando. There are trunk shoes, champagne receptions, and a preview of Spring fashions that delight guests. Mickey's Halloween Party is held from the middle of September to November. There are costumed guests that intermingle with Mickey's friends. There is food and fun for all. An Art Fest is held in October in Central Park. Art, food, and entertainment are featured. December brings in the holiday season. The day after Thanksgiving the festivities begin. There is a festival of trees at the Orlando Museum of Art, and Sea World and Disneyworld bring out the finest decorations and parades to herald the season. For a different family fun adventure, ride an air boat. Tours take visitors into the Florida swamps and Everglades. Balloon flights are offered in the area, also. Experience the thrill of indoor skydiving. There are many art galleries to visit in Orlando. Some of the finest art is displayed there. Museums offer visitors a chance to see the history of the discovery of Florida. The Holy Land Experience is an attraction geared to young and old alike. Gatorland offers an in-depth look at the animals that make their home in Florida. Shoppers are at home in the various malls and shopping centers in the area. There are more than eleven large malls in the area. These include the Outlet malls, which are popular with residents and tourists alike. The Downtown Disney Marketplace is a real treat to shoppers, looking for a unique gift to take home. Water parks are a favorite past time of young and old alike. There are many Water Parks in the area. Hotels and motels, privately owned condo, and other accommodations are plentiful in Orlando. Prices range from $46 to $151 plus a night. All are conveniently located. Each offers amenities, such as continental breakfast, free transportation to popular attractions, heated pools, etc. Good food is a must in the Orlando area. Restaurants are abundant. The cuisine ranges from Asian, Cajun. Italian, Mexican, California, British, Irish, Indian, Kosher, German and French. There are many ethnic choices in the area, along with American favorites such as steak, pizza, and seafood. Fast food is readily available, also. For the evening scene, there are many places to enjoy a show and a drink. Capone's Dinner and Show is such a place. It presents a musical comedy, plus a delicious buffet. For the sports minded guest, Orlando offers golf courses with greens that rival the most prestigious courses. Horseback riding is available at a local dude ranch.
