Sky Diving Parachute
Things To Know Before Sky Diving
Most all sky diving places will not allow anyone under the age of 18 to participate due to the many risks involved. Research the dangers and what to know before trying anything like this, and read articles from experienced people. Like any extreme sport, you will always have risks. You want to weigh less than 250 pounds as well. The safest way to get into sky diving is call your local sky diving airport and ask if they have a training class, you may also want to ask how long they have been in business and how many accidents they have had if any. Sky diving prices can range anywhere from around $150 to $300 per person on average.
Do not try to focus on looking good, a lot of first sky dives are recorded on camera and give you the option to purchase it afterwards. If you wear constricting clothes, you may find difficulties. Also you can wear your glasses or contacts if needed, you will be provided with goggles that should fit over them easily. If you have long hair put it back in a bun, your hair being loose or in a pony tail can cause not only you issues but your jumper that you are relying on that will most likely be strapped to your back. If you are trying to look cute and wear a lack of clothing, you better be putting on the jump suit the have available for you or you may regret it. Just remember the ground does not care how you look. You can jump alone on your first time, however it is not recommended. Most places now require you to have jumped at least 5 times with someone first, this is called tandem jumping. You can research and learn about the different jumps you can take. The average free fall is 30-45 seconds depending on how high you jump from. Most will jump at 10, 000 feet, but some for a little extra will go to 13, 500 feet. Expect your falling with the parachute open to be around 4 minutes. Then act as if you were going to sit on the couch when landing if you are a beginner, you should slide comfortably and have no landing issues, however I have had a few uncomfortable ones myself. You will most likely have a short class before your first jump, unless you are like me and stuck with a 30-minute video than strapped up and sent in a plane. Remember about 3 seconds after you leave that plane to always arch your back and put your arms out like a cross, and enjoy. After the shoot opens you need to lift your self up and put each thigh into the stirrups to make you into a sitting position. From there you just enjoy the scenery, discourage your jumper strapped to you from twirling and spiraling down like a tornado, they sometimes do it to mess with new jumpers, you will most likely vomit at the end of the ride if they do this. You have a high chance of forgetting everything told to you to do your first time the second you jump out of that plane. You will be so scared you won't know anything. Just remember don't close your eyes and enjoy this amazing experience. If you were like me you will cry and scream then once you get to the bottom act as if you were a kid that just got off a cool ride and say; "Let's do that again!" I have jumped around fifty times now yet haven't done it in 3 years and am craving it. You will get addicted quick, however it is an expensive habit. Your second time sky diving and on will be more enjoyable than the first because you will know what to expect. But each time is an amazing rush.
