Skydiving!
"Are the parachutes ready, " Gilbert's unhappy face asked. The plane was starting up and five dark shapes made their way in the morning sun. It was 6:00 a.m. and they were going to do a little skydiving. There was
little excitement, to fulfil their pampered, boring lives.
"Sure, the parachutes are ready. Jeff saw to it."
"No, man."
"That's the way we play the game. It's part of the fun." Jobe grabbed Kirk's pack and tossed it to Gilbert. Gilbert then tossed his old pack to Leo. "Leo, give your pack to Kirk." "Sure, man. Kirk...enjoy!" Leo passed over his old pack and handed it to Kirk. Kirk took it and looked over to Tim. Then Gilbert addressed the entire group. "Okay, part of the thrill is the mystery. Jeff's head eased around the corner to the cockpit door and addressed the group. "Okay, we're getting to our jumping height. Put on your packs." They all did, following Kirk's lead. As the packs were ready, so were the men wearing them. Except for Kirk. He was terrified and you could see it on his face. He was petrified and streaming sweat under his nose. His upper lip marked his fear quite well. Jobe saw this and laughed. Jobe loved to see the others scared. Gilbert was sympathetic with how Kirk felt. Jobe always was scared, but he had the uncanny knack for hiding it Gilbert noticed. Leo turned to Gilbert and asked, "How many times have you done this?" "Well, this is the fifth...or is it sixth? Jobe, what number jump is this?" "I think it's jump five. I lost count through time." By Se-Ra-De - I was born and raised in Canada.
