Sky Venture Of Orlando: A Truly Lifting Experience
On my recent trip to Orlando, Florida I had a few things that I was positive that I wanted to do. I wanted to walk the streets of Orlando and truly experience it. But I also wanted to try fun activities I could not do in my hometown of Pittsburgh. I was reading about sky diving recently and I wasn't sure that it was something I could ever go through with. However, I had read something about indoor sky diving, and one of the locations for this was Sky Venture in Orlando, Florida. "That's convenient" I thought to myself. I had also wanted to fly, pretty much like everyone else in the world, and the opportunity was laid out in front of me by Sky Venture.
So I began to look into Sky Venture. I looked at prices, reviews, and general location in relation to other attractions in Orlando. The price wasn't more that I expected, and it runs from $44.95 for one person for one hour of flight time. But they also offered a package for up to five fliers for only $229.95, quite a deal. Unfortunately, my family does not consist of the courageous, so I was on my own. I selected the $44.95 package, which included everything I needed to finally fly with Sky Venture. They do recommend that you call ahead to reserve a time slot.
Sky Venture was located just southwest of downtown Orlando. It was a simple drive that consisted of driving west on I-4, and exiting at 75a, then making two more rights. Sky Venture is located in Visitors Circle at the address 6895, right next to a quite good Pizzeria. It was a simple and relaxing drive that really anyone could make from Orlando. Finally, onto the flying. I must admit, I was pretty nervous on the drive to Sky Venture. I do have a mild fear of heights, but it's nothing that's bothered me terribly in the past. I do like to have control of my environment but this was not something I was going to have at Sky Venture. I arrived and was greeted friendly by the staff. They ushered me into a room to change into my flight clothes, and after changing I felt prepared to go into space. My instructor helped to calm me down and really explain how to jump and all I needed to know in a ten minute teaching session. I got to "jump" twice and it was one of the most incredible feelings I've ever experienced in my life. The feeling of the wind rushing against your face, the feeling of weightlessness, the odd thought in the back of your head that says, "Wow, I'm defying the laws of physics". There is really no way to describe it, it's something you must try to experience in your lifetime. All in all, Sky Venture in Orlando, Florida was one of the most "uplifting" experiences I've ever got to enjoy. For those of you that want to sky dive, it's a great introduction and preface to that. For those of you afraid of heights, it could be a remedy to your fears. But really, it's fun for anyone. When you are offered a once in a lifetime experience, such as Sky Venture offers, you must accept it.
