Denton, TX Burgers To Make Your Bills Drop

Given the fact that one can only write so much about meat and stay creative, I've almost given up hope of just how to pull you, the reader, into the depth that is the modern day hamburger. So, in an act of desperation I googled "Hamburger" and found a single trending topic: this tasty entre has more supposed origins than the baby I saw on Maury last week. Amongst the many possibilities came one that I thought fit to share with my fellow Texans. It is supposed that the hamburger was actually first invented and commercially sold in Athens, Tx.

With this in mind, it's safe to say that that in itself is an entirely separate article for another day. What I purposed in writing this was to inform my fellow inhabitants of Denton just where the best burgers in town can be found. In order of increasing satisfaction, here are the top three local burger joints that even make ten-year-olds question their love of McDonald's.

#3.) Denton Independent Hamburger Company:

Located 113 West Hickory St, DIHC holds the standard for what any local hamburger restaurant should shoot for. From wooden floors to hand-made burgers, this is a prime example of what Mom and Pop can do if they just set their mind to something. Coming from very humble origins, this shop knows how to please their customers in both environment and taste. Walking into the establishment is almost like taking a time machine through the past hundred years of American history, with old road signs and pieces of what I would assume used to be wagons. The burgers themselves should make the German city of Hamburg blush for not offering the same quality of food as what is found here. With this being said, I must say that this falls into third place due to being just "good". You'll find no better old-fashioned hamburger in Denton, but unfortunately, that's all that's offered at DIHC. Variety breeds curiosity, and there's not a curious burger found within the walls of this burger shack. You come to get a burger. You get the burger with fries and whatnot. You leave. Done.

#2.) Katz Hamburgers

No more than two blocks away from the University of North Texas lies Katz Hamburgers on 901 Ave C. I may be a good judge of character in a restaurant, or I may just be a sucker for retro-themed businesses. From the moment you set foot in the door onto the black and white checkered tile floor you feel as if you can hear John Travolta out back singing "Grease Lightning". Complete with ice cream bar and stools, this is the number one date night pick. What I love most about Katz is the variety of burgers they offer and the reasonable price they offer for them. Hawaiian to swiss mushroom, you're bound to find just what you're craving on the menu. What is most exciting is their individualization of patties, whether they be turkey, veggie or beef. For my friends not too fond of either red meat or meat in general, Katz has you covered. Complete with a large-screen t.v. in the center, whether you be alone or with a group of friends, find your place here. Proximity is important; flavor is important; now we come to the deciding factor in this burger's placement. Katz seems a little on the grungy side. Maybe an unkept table over here, maybe some trash on the floor over there. I know that I respect a clean restaurant, and I know that health codes are still intact when there's a napkin on the floor, but sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference.

#1.) RG Burgers

Find this restaurant at 2430 N Interstate 35 and find your renewed love of hamburgers. What sets this establishment above all the rest is the dine-in format that it carries in all aspects of business. Upon entering some waiter bids you welcome and tells you to pick a seat from across the room. The laid back yet professional atmosphere is what I love most about RGB. Offering flavors from around the world on their menu, you can get the "Mama Mia, " complete with bleu cheese and red peppers, and a variety of other BBQ or specialty burgers that no other offers. Offering a turkey, beef, or veggie patty, this place makes sure to cover all the bases of a good burger. Flame-grilled and made upon request, RGB makes sure not to play with its burgers. The environment is, in short, American. Flat-screen t.v's play ESPN and other news and road signs are scattered among the walls. It is because of RGB that I now have a love of sweet potato fries. It is because of RGB that I came to realize that avocado and burger were meant to be together. It is because of RGB that I decided to write this article.

Once again I want to thank any and all readers of Associated Content, and ask that you go out and find your own adventure to write about. Whether it be to the grocery store or skydiving, if given the proper sentence structure, any story, even the ones about hamburgers, can be worth the read.
