Skydiving Australia is regulated by the Australian parachute Federation (APF) which works under the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The APF have operational Regulations and have specific code of ethics to which the skydiving clubs have to agree and follow diligently. The APF conducts safety audits of all skydiving operations on a regular basis in Australia.

For people who want to indulge in this sport have several reservations about it. They have various myths about the sport such as that it is unsafe. Well, this is not true! First things first, every sport involves some kind of risk or the other. In fact tandem skydives is one sport which is the safest while taking into consideration the safety measures which are employed during this thrilling activity.

In tandem skydiving, people have to sign a waiver form. It is best if you reach the venue 3 to 4 hours before the scheduled time and give at least this much time for your tandem. During this period, you will meet your instructor and know the procedure involved in tandem skydives. You need to have an average level of fitness and need to be generally healthy. If you have any health concerns, you must tell your instructor about it. This is because, the instructor will employ different techniques in tandem jump and make you feel comfortable.

After you meet your instructor, you have to wear some gear which includes a jumpsuit, goggles and a harness. The harness is used specifically in tandem jump only because the student is attached to the instructor on the back. It is not used in solo skydives and is a vital instrument in tandem skydiving.

After this, the tandem master gives you instructions on how to exit the plane and how to maintain the right bodies form while tandem skydives.

For sky diving, you need to jump at a specific time as the landing spot has been decided beforehand. It is also possible that the door of the plane may be open so that you can make the dive with more ease. It is likely that you'll be nervous before the tandem jump. But it is normal to be in such a situation. After all, you don't jump from a height of 14000 feet from a plane every day!

Things are made easy for you. You and your instructor will sit on the floor of the plane and both of you will slowly move towards the edge of the plane. As soon as the instructor decides to jump, both of you will roll out of the plane. You'll experience as if you are floating in the air. The experience is riveting and the conditions will be windy and loud.

So, enjoy your tandem jump without any fear. You can contact the skydiving clubs on line and book for your tandem skydives.
